What do you do when you were born to be a placemaking facilitator and that "job" doesn't yet exist? Create it!
So here you are reading about my "ikigai," my vocation, and what I think is a bright horizon of democratic self-governance for addressing the complex challenges we face on this planet.
If you are interested in placemaking, cities, urban planning, inclusive decision making in local governance, public spaces, equitable economic development, climate-informed land use, beautiful architecture, social infrastructure, and involving young people in their communities, you have come to the right place!
I am currently writing but have some limited availability for speaking engagements, planning, research, and community projects. Reach out and stay in touch!
I am a placemaking facilitator*, constructive non-conformist, social weaver, civic innovator, tactical urbanism fanatic, public art patron, city lover, and collector of good questions.
Over the course of my career, I have been fortunate to lead or support teams that get results - public space improvements, fanatical volunteerism, small business growth, affordable homes, and beloved events (including TEDxBradenton and a public market!).
A New College of Florida graduate, I have enjoyed continuing my education with HarvardX courses, the Harwood Institute, Project for Public Spaces, and People’s Institute for Survival & Beyond.
